Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area and tiger reserve located about 38 kilometers from Chickmagaluru in the south Indian state of Karnataka. The sanctuary established in 1951. The sanctuary declared Protect Tiger Reserve in 1998. It was a home to several species of Carnivorous and Homnivorous animals including Tigers, Leopards, Hog Deer, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer, Wild Cat, Jackle, Jungle Cat, Golden Macaque, Spotted Deer. The Tiger reserve is protected by the Forest Department of Karnataka. The sanctuary has a home to more than 250 species of birds. Travelers can also explore a wide range of wild animals and birds in this sanctuary.
Grey junglefowl, the red spurfowl, painted bush quail, emerald dove, southern green imperial pigeon, great black woodpecker, Malabar parakeet, hill myna, ruby-throated bulbul, shama, Malabar trogon, Malabar whistling thrush, four species of hornbill and racquet-tailed drongo.
The park opens from morning 6 AM to 10 AM and Evening 3 PM to 6 PM. The park provides jeep safari activities to the interested travelers. It charges approximately Rs. 600/- per person.
