Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary- Guide To Visit Kinnerasani, Telangana

Kinnerasani, a beautiful wildlife sanctuary located in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district of the Indian state Telangana. The sanctuary is a home various rare species of wildlife and is a part called as Dandakaraynam forests in Tretayuga time. Kinnerasani wildlife sanctuary placed on the banks of the river Godavari which spread over an area of about 635 square kilometres established in the year 1979. Every year thousands of travellers visit the destination beautiful view of hills surround, and curves of the floating river which splits the sanctuary. Forest covered islands, lakes, and crocodiles are the major attractions in Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary

Climate Conditions:

The climate of Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary remains hot all the year round. Summers starts from March and ends in May. During the period the Sanctuary experiences very high-temperature ranges of about 35 to 47-degree Celsius. Monsoon season begins in the month of June and continues up to September. Climate is cold and observes moderate rainfall. November to February observes as Winter occasion in the destination. The sanctuary looks beautiful and the temperature records of about 21 to 33-degree Celsius.

Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary attracts the tourists with their natural scenic beauty locations and holds the record of one of the best tourist place in the state. The best time to explore the destination in Winter season. October, November, December, January, February, March are the best months to visit Kinnerasani.

Wildlife And Attractions At Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary:

The destination got the name after the river called Kinnersani known for its dense forests, rich variety of flora and fauna and several attractions. Wildlife animals like Tigers, Chinkara, Chousinghas, Black Bucks, Cheetal, Gaurs, Hyena, Jackals, Wild Boars, Sloth Bear, Panthers, and Sambar are protected here. The Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary located approx 20 kilometres from the town named Palwancha.

Travellers also found the beautiful bird varieties like Quails, Peafowl, parakeets, Nuktas, Partridges, Teals, Doves, Spoonbills, Jungle Fowl, golden oriole, kingfisher, and other migratory birds. Lakes, Glass guest house, Kinnerasani dam and deer park are the other attractions in Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary. Also, it has trees like Bamboo, Yepi, Teak, Mango, Neem,  Yegisha, Tapasi, Somi, Bandaru, Amla and etc widely spread in the reserved area. Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple, Anjaneya Temple, Parnasala etc are the other tourist attractions near the Sanctuary.

How To Reach: 

Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary well connected to all the major destinations in the state. Wildlife enthusiasts and Travellers can reach the destination via by Air, Train, and by Roadways. 

  • Air: The nearest airport located Vijayawada, which is 165 kilometres away from the destination. By then traveller can catch bus or taxi to reach.
  • Train: Bhadrachalam Road (Kothagudem) is the nearest railway station from the Sanctuary of about 25 km away. Regular trains to the destination from Hyderabad, Khammam, and Vijayawada.
  • Road:  TSRTC and APSRTC provide bus facility to the tourists. Private taxis and cabs available at different prices. The best and cheap option to reach the destination only by bus.

Accommodation At Kinnerasani:

Government Forest Guest Houses available at nearest places like Palwancha, Bhadrachalam and at Kothagudem. Harita Hotel operated by State Tourism at Bhadrachalam offers accommodation and food facilities to the travellers and this is the ideal resort for Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary.
