Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most visited sanctuaries in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It is sprawling over an area of 578 square kilometers. Moreover, it circumscribes the mighty Kumbhalgarh fortress. The sanctuary houses abundant wildlife and bird species. In addition to the wildlife sighting, the visitors can enchant the trekking, horse safaris, and activities of the wolf. Try to make a visit to this sanctuary between October and June. Avoid the visit during Summer. However, during this season you could spot the animals while drinking the water in the waterholes.

Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is not only a habitat for a varied variety of animals but also for various endangered animals. Some of the famous wildlife species that you can find here including sloth bear, striped hyena, jungle cat, nilgai, sambhar, Indian Leopard, Indian hare, chinkara, and chausingha etc.
In addition to the wildlife species, it is a habitat for abounding number of bird species. One can enchant the sighting of birds such as grey jungle fowl, doves, peacocks, parakeet, golden oriole, bulbul, grey pigeon, golden oriole, bulbul white-breasted kingfisher and red spurfowl. Also, Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in vegetation which contains the medicinal properties.
The visitors have to take prior permission from the forest ranger. Also, they have to pay a minimum charge to enter into the sanctuary. If you wish to take your camera along with you then you will have to pay additional charges.
The nearest airport is Udaipur. It is well connected to all the major cities of India via regular flights.
The nearest railhead is at Udaipur. From where the sanctuary is about 90 kilometers away. Hire a taxi or take a bus to reach the sanctuary.
