Ichan-Kala Fortress
The Ichon-Qala Fortress is a real heart of Khiva and it’s included in UNESCO heritage list. This fortress stays over 2,500 years, and once you get inside – it’s like a journey through times.
Beyond the walls of Ichon-Qala, we'll spass (there's no transportation available) through a veritable labyrinth of palaces, mosques, madrassas, minarets, mausoleums, caravanserais, and bathhouses, all remarkably well-preserved, and we'll explore it all together.
We invite you to extend your journey and set off to Khiva - the ancient capital of the Kharezm Kingdom.
The famous Kalta-Minor Minaret, situated within the Citadel, was initially conceived to soar to a height of 80 meters. However, construction works were stopped at the 29-meter mark. It is the only minaret which is fully with glazed tiles and majolica.
This place is always full of life, people, music, and traders.
The Kalta-Minor Minaret
Khiva's Juma Mosque is located on the main street Ichon-Qala. It looks very simple from outside, without portals, arches, domes, or traditional decorations.
Yet, once inside, it transforms into a kind of museum, housing intricately carved wooden columns, some of which have weathered the ages for over 1000 years!
